How To Start A Mindfulness Practice

Have you wanted to create a consistent space to carve out for yourself?

For years and years I wrote over and over on my to do list to meditate and journal daily, but you know what so often happened….life!

I often felt like life was getting busier and there was absolutely no time to do any of those things for ME!

I always had some form of an excuse as to why I couldn’t make the time…
Early morning meetings I had to prep for!
Needing an extra 5-10 min of sleep!
Having to juggle so much, I absolutely couldn’t fit one more thing in!

Until one day, after endless late nights and working 100 hour work weeks, I had a panic attack in a yoga studio and said out loud, "wow, something really has to change!" I had run myself into the ground and from that point on declared no more excuses! I’m needed to double down on keeping this commitment to myself.

And when I did, everything shifted!

Taking time to consistently drop into myself became the secret key that helped me create way more energy and way more grounding in all corners of my life. And that space allowed me to be more skilled in handling the seemingly endless demands of it all.

If you’ve ever wanted consistency with taking self care space for YOU, but feel that it’s been too hard to create on your own, you’re in the right place!

If you're wanting to start a mindfulness practice, here's a few ways to begin:

  1. Set Sacred Time!
Carve out between 5 to 15 minutes in your morning and then protect that time fully. If you don't schedule it, it will get taken by something or anything else.

  2. Let Yourself Be Guided!
When you're creating dedicated space, then also needing to "figure out" what to do during that time is another whole thing. Make it simple and use a guided visualization or meditation that helps you feel grounded. I highly recommend Insight Timer as a starting point, there's thousands of guided meditations on there to choose from so bookmark your faves and make it easy!

  3. Grab A Friend Or Two!
When you have accountability for anything, it greatly increases the "stickability" of a brand new way of being into your life. So check in with a friend and get accountable to each other on your mindfulness practices!

And if you want all of these in one place, I've got your back on that too!

The Drop In Community is a deeply held dedicated space to drop into yourself every single Monday morning for a quick 30 minutes so you can show up more fully in your week and your life!
